Excellent watch November 25, 2008 Nitin K. Patel Very good watch. This is the type of watches i like. I like flat and thin dial watches. The belt look is what i like the most.
Nicest watch on the market November 2, 2008 J. A. Schomaker (Atlanta, GA) I bought this to replace my last Skagen watch when I broke the crystal. I have had this same model Skagen watch for 10 years. The beauty of this watch is in its simplicity of design. It is extremely thin, lite and comfortable to wear. Big bulky flashy watches are for people who are trying to show off their jewelry as a status symbol. But this watch gets more attention by being unique, slim and comfortable and with simple beauty that is appreciated by anyone. I always get compliments on this watch. I was in the hospital for an outpatient procedure last year. I was laying on the table when one of the nurses notice my Skagen watch. The entire operating room had to come over and admire it while I lay there half naked. Thank goodness the watch was there to avert their attention. I love my Skagen and I won't consider anything else.
Nice looking watch, not reliable and bad customer service October 27, 2008 swingy (Oregon) I have three Skagen watches. They are beautiful. However here are the issues I have with them: Most importantly, everything about this watch is propriatery. Changing batteries is a pain as you can't find them locally and it costs $14.95. Bands are $34.95. Also you better keep your sales receipt even though they have lifetime warranty. I sent in my replacement band and battery with payment for two watches in July and they cashed the check and didn't receive anything until January. I called them and they promised to send a free battery, but when I received the items finally in March, no battery was included (let alone a free one). Other issues: a) Wire mesh bands: The clasp is not always tight and over time will slide and get a little loose. Also the titanium mesh is made of tiny small circles of metal interlocked and if one of them gets open (say you hit something), it starts unraveling slowly but surely. b) Leather band: The one I have fell apart so quickly it is surprising. It also started smelling bad due to sweat (I do not sweat that much and I owned other watches with leather bands). This seems to be a very bad quality. c) Water - my watch started fogging after 2 years of light usage. I will NOT buy another Skagen watch. Their customer service and business practices are shady. They are great watches when they work. I am now an owner of a Citizen watch.
After a SWatch June 28, 2008 Juan P. Ochoa (US, Colombia, Nicaragua) My Slim Swatch ran out of batteries and I decided to buy a new watch. I've never liked big watches and this one looked very thin, light and elegant. I didn't have high expectations when I bought it, but once I opened the little box it comes in, I fell in love with it. I get equal or more complimients from people about my Skagen than my Swatch. The Stainless steel strap is awesome and it can be adjusted so easily that there is no need to cut it like other watches. The watch came with the local time set already, that was amazing.
IMPRESSIVE May 23, 2008 J. Kolodziejski (Long Island, New York) Impressive piece for the money. Really nice looking watch! Gave it to my brother for his birthday and he loved it. Would definitely purchase again! Very quick shipping too!
