Amazon.com Product Description The St. Bernard of ski mounts, Yakima's Big PowderHound holds up to six pairs of skis, four snowboards, or a combination of the two while safely attached to the roof of your car. The Big PowderHound is equipped with easy-to-install universal mounting hardware, which fits round, square, and most other factory crossbars right out of the box. The rack's big, glove-friendly button, meanwhile, opens easily. Best of all, the Big PowderHound accommodates both fat and skinny boards and skis, with soft rubber padding to gently cradle your gear. Designed to fit with Yakima's universal mounting brackets (included) and SKS lock cores (not included), the Big PowderHound includes both front and back units and carries Yakima's "Love It Till You Leave It" limited lifetime warranty.
Product Description If you?re pinching pennies, you might have to pinch yourself over your ability to afford this newly redesigned classic. Try to resist the urge to pinch your retailer, though.

Sturdy & Long-Lasting May 23, 2008 Martin A Hogan (San Francisco, CA.) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This rack is very sturdy and fits my Toyota Tacoma perfectly. I highly suggest you have a manufacturer install it properly (REI did mine for about $200, but it was worth not having the hassle). Also the bars are easily taken off with the hex wrench during non-winter seasons, so UV rays don't deteriorate the rubber. It is noisy in the wind, so that takes some getting used to. This ski rack also comes in a 2-pair model. Extra keys are included. Yakima and Thule have great reputations for racks.
Fantastic product February 5, 2008 Greg Peterson (Wisconsin) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Big Powder Hound is a great rack for hauling multiple pairs of ski's or snowboards. Mounting was extremely quick & easy as well as being secure. Construction seems robust enough to last for a long time. I did add the sks locks & they have worked great as well. However I did have 1 lock freeze up on a particularly nasty day, might want to keep a can of spray on ice melter handy to deal with that possible issue.
