5 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says, and does it well   August 30, 2008
BlueOvalRacer (Redmond, WA)
Purchased this for my son who plays football in the rainy Seattle area. After a three hour practice in the rain he would come home with his cleats so wet that you could squeeze water out of the lining and then he would have to spend an hour with a hair dryer to get them dry (this ruined a new pair of Nike cleats by overheating them).

The DryGuy has a two hour timer and only heats the air to 98 degrees F (body temp) so there are no overheating concerns. On days when it doesn't rain and the shoes are only wet from sweat in practice, they are dry in about an hour. On rainy days when they get thoroughly soaked it may be necessary to reset the timer and have them drying for three to four hours, but there is nothing unreasonable or unexpected about that. An added benefit is that he like to put his cleats on the dryer for about fifteen minutes before putting them on. This warms them up and softens the leather and synthetic material so that they are as comfortable as if he's had them on for half an hour.

The unit is sturdy, the timer dial large and clearly marked, the power cord is nice and long for easy placement of the unit, and the fan motor is very quiet. Worth every penny for drying shoes that are wet from athletics or the rain, or even if you just want to put on a warm pair of shoes on a chilly morning.

One note. If you buy the unit intending to dry boots, it is relatively compact and may not be the best choice for a boot dryer, but it is perfect for size 13 football cleats :)

5 out of 5 stars Nice Dry Shoes   January 9, 2008
C. K. Iwamasa (HI, USA)
This product is very welcomed to my household. After a day out at work with my Red Wings (low cut steel toe) I place them on the ShoeDry and they return to a like new feel the next morning. At times the shoes would be pretty damp and normally not wearable for a couple of days but this ShoeDry does it's job, Nice! Just set the desired time with the Timer control and you're good to go. The soft heat makes the shoes nice, dry and very comfortable. I also like how they designed the folding shoe insert tubes, saves space when not in use. This item is well designed and easy to use, did not even regret my purchase from Amazon.com, who I should thank for their great service. I highly recommend this item but be aware it is best used for light to normal weight and lowcut shoes.

4 out of 5 stars DryGuy shoe dry   December 18, 2007
Sport Mom (IL USA)
Got this for my basketball playing son's shoes which were soaked after practice or game. They really dry them out within the timer of 2 hours on the dryer. Only problem is the shoes stink so bad, that when you put them on the dryer it circulates the stink into the air. We keep the dryer in the garage, not house! At over $100 for shoes, and getting the dryer after the season start, we are keeping the shoes. Would expect that putting new shoes on this from the get go would prevent the stink....will see. Either way, definitely worth it from the drying standpoint!!!

4 out of 5 stars shoe dry review   November 29, 2007

Overall the product works well,- if you don't put your shoes on correctly or if you use it for boots, you'll tip it over. It does not use hot air , just warm, so i use it for my running shoes. Like the timer and it is pretty quiet.

5 out of 5 stars Drys my shoes quick!   August 15, 2007
Ranger (San Jose, CA)
I just had this unit for a few days and it's working great for me. I run 8 miles a day and my shoes are drenched everytime. It was such a big dilemma for me to dry my shoes every night- I had to put it in front of a mini fan and had to remember to turn it off. Now the with this unit my shoes dry in 45minutes without having to worry about turning it off using the timer. I leave the unit by the door so that my shoes are good to go the next day. Real convenient. Also, now I can break into my new shoes and not worry about them stinking after a few days.
