The sipper top is an invention that should have been used by the inventors of the Klean Kanteen. It works great and makes the canteen much more useful and easier to use.

I was very pleased with the sports caps I ordered to replace old ones my boys have used on their stainless steel water bottles. With the old models, they used to use their teeth to open the caps, damaging the caps and probably their teeth, too. The new design is definitely an improvement on two counts: the cap opens easily when you pull the cover off and can be closed firmly by little fingers; the new hook is at an angle which facilitates hanging on school hooks without undue pressure on the bottle cap or the hook. Great product!

This cap has worked fine for me. Other than typical sounds of drinking, I don't notice any "strange" problems with noises or leaks. The label that came on the top indicates that it is not "leak proof". I just swap out tops to suit the situation. I'll probably wind up just drinking from the bottle directly but that is just because I drink a lot of water at a time. I did find that I can slip the dust cap from the sport cap through the loop in the other twist off cap to keep them both handy. Suits me fine. I've been carrying around rather used plastic bottles for refills as needed.

I got the Klean Kanteen Sport Cap because for the Klean Kanteen water bottles that I got from LLBean, you had to unscrew the cap and drink from the bottle itself and the mouth of the bottle is wide. The sports cap answers that problem and is great in every respect except it leaks no matter how tightly I screw it on. If it falls on its side in my pack it leaks inside the pack. Also, it makes a whistling noise when you drink from it. I saw a suggestion that it whistles when the cap is screwed on too tight. But why would I want to loosen it up when it leaks? Still, it allows me to drink from the bottle without unscrewing the cap and that's a plus.

This cap is pretty much better than the original in every single way. It allows much better liquid flow, much more quiet, and has a finger loophole so you can hold it very easily. If you use this bottle at the gym, it's pretty much essential!
