I wore this shoe (or predecessors) for years and somehow quit. Just bought a pair (and quickly ordered 2 more) because I forgot how well it fit. I have a narrow fit and need the stability. I will not make the same mistake again. This shoe is for me.New Balance Men's MR993 Running Shoe

the classic New Balance 993 cannot be beat; well constructed, pleasing gray color, made in the USA, what's not to like. These run 1/2 small so order up. The amazon.com price is terrific; I do not know why [...] another amazon.com company is still selling these for list price of $139
Get the new balance yankz bungee cord lace system $8 sold on amazon.com, these bungee laces make on and off a breeze. They do take a few minutes to adjust but then you are home free. The gray with black look great on these shoes.
Sure there are better running shoes; and the real devoted runners will choose something different I have the new balance 1121 and these are better. But for a great quality USA made shoe with every size and width imaginable, the classic new balance 993 cannot be beat!

Within a month of purchasing my NB993 they began to show wear on the side of the shoe near the ball of my foot. The material is certainly less durable than the NB991s I bought several years ago. Surprisingly, the wear pattern on my one-month-old 993s looks similar to the wear pattern on my three-year-old 991s. I am very disappointed in this purchase.

About a year ago I bought the this very shoe from famousfootwear for over $100 and they were excellent shoes! I used them to run in the 2009 Portland Marathon which aided in my completion. The reason I choose NB shoes in the first place is the wide toe option. Other running shoes like Nike and Addias are narrower and end up hurting my pinky toe. Besides that there are many other great reviews on here. I would just like to add that if you have an old pair of MR993, stick your old cushion into your new shoe and it makes it a whole lot more comfortable not that it wasn't already. But more cushion doesn't hurt does it?
