Amazon.com Product Description A great choice for extended backcountry rides, the H.A.W.G. hydration/cargo pack hauls enough water and gear for more than three hours in the saddle. The pack's main feature is its 3-liter Omega reservoir, which is well insulated to keep water and other liquids cool for hours upon end. At the same time, the pack offers 916 cubic inches of storage space, letting you bring everything from a change of clothes to a picnic lunch to bike gear. And thanks to the removable waist belt and dynamic suspension harness, the pack distributes weight evenly and is comfortable throughout the ride. Other details include dual-side compression straps that keep the load stable regardless of the terrain, an Air Director back panel that delivers enhanced ventilation, an easy-access MP3 pocket with a weather-resistant zipper, a durable splash guard that protects the pack from mud and abrasion, and reflective details that help you stay visible in low-light conditions. Ideal for virtually any mountain biking scenario, the H.A.W.G. is backed by a two-year warranty (with a lifetime warranty on the Omega reservoir). About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits. In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak's state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

Excellent June 16, 2008 Bill (Georgia) This is my first experience with CamelBak and it is a good one. Pack is obviously high quality and roomy. Plenty of pockets, straps, etc. to stash stuff and attach helmet. Fits great on my back for bike riding, and the extra straps that go around your waist for stability are removable so they aren't flopping around if not used. I also like how they include Velcro stays that control excess strapping so it also is not flopping around. Perfect padded pocket at the top of the bag for my iPod touch. This pack will definitely last.
One of the best bike purchases I've made! June 9, 2008 Paul R. Lanhart (Burnsville, MN United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've always been a fan of Camelbak products but have tried many others as well. This bag seals the deal for me, though! I use this for my daily commute which runs about 20 miles one way and I carry light clothes, wallet, phone, keys, etc. It has plenty of room without being too big. It's really about the perfect size for a commuter or for day-long rides. It's very comfortable with good adjustments available. In fact, it's the most comfortable hydration pack I've worn, even when it's packed pretty full. The 'Air Director' air flow design works very well and keeps your back fairly well ventilated. I think they thought out the pockets very well, also. It seems to have the right combination of a big roomy storage area along with a variety of pockets for keys, gloves, wallets, etc. I also like how you can allow the main storage to expand or cinch it up for a sleeker, more compact bag if you're not using the space. One little thing a lot of people don't notice on bike bags is where they place the carrying strap/handle. Camelbak smartly places it slightly lower (not directly on top) and more on the front side. This is important for us mountain bikers who often duck under a tree branch or two. If the handle is sticking up it can get caught very easy and pull you right off your bike. Because of that, I've cut them off on other bags. I don't have to worry about that on this bag. The water bag and related components are typical high-quality Camelbak components. They don't disappoint. Some folks have commented that they don't like the access for filling the water bag. I haven't found it to be cumbersome at all and I would rather fill the bag from the opposite side of the storage in case I accidentally spill some water. You can also remove the bag quite easily and fill it that way. It works well. VERY smartly designed bag and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Plenty of room & durable November 12, 2007 Jeff Long (Kingwood, Texas USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
this pack has room for 2 full size textbooks and a spiral bound notebook, with little pockets for things like ipods and such...plus the water! i can carry everything i need for a long day at school and stay hydrated. i wish the zippers were a little more heavy duty, but it feels rugged enough to last a while.it fits nice and tight and there's plenty of padding to make the pack feel light and natural - almost like you're not even wearing it.i would recommend this for someone who wants the camelbak water handy and to be able to put a few things in the bag. if you're looking to put a lot of things in the bag, get something bigger.
