I have read excerpts from this book and know it is wonderful....however, i never received this book and am still waiting. it has been over one month since i was told it would ship. i have contacted the seller but to no avail. :(
Easy way to eat better September 4, 2010 Seeking Spirit (California) I accidently found a blurb on the web about this program and the more I read, I knew I needed the book. I have not quite finished it but I have been grain free for 2 weeks and feel great. So easy and so many fewer calories going into my system. As for the book, it is easy to read and follow. I am just sorry he never addresses wheat grass or how to choose between fat free and non fat free dairy. Maybe I will get to that soon.
Loving the Primal way! August 29, 2010 Emily Morris (Boston, MA) A friend of mine had been following the Primal Blueprint for about two months and I was seeing her posts on Facebook and asking her questions about it. The more I thought about how I was ADDICTED to bread and pasta, the more I wanted to stop eating it. I know the reason we LOVE white flour is because we are addicted to the sugar rush, so I got The Primal Blueprint and thought I would give it a try. What I would tell people most is how EASY it has been. I thought it would be really hard but once you cut out the white flour, the cravings go away. I didn't crave any bread at all even in the first few days. I felt resolved to do this which maybe helped but I really thought I was going to have a harder time. People wonder, what do you eat? I have been eating so well. My typical day is an omelette for breakfast, with some full fat yogurt and fruit on the side, something like a can of tuna and veggies for lunch, and some chicken, fish or other meat for dinner with a lot of broccoli or green beans. For snacks I have almonds, pickles, a piece of fresh or dried fruit, dark chocolate (totally allowed!) a slice of cheese, etc. It's been GREAT. I have lost three inches on my waist and although I don't have a scale I would guess I have lost 5 or 6lbs in three weeks. I am convinced! Give it a try, I think you will find it revolutionary!
Common Sense Revisited August 9, 2010 L. Myers (Littleton, CO United States) I very much enjoyed Mark's book and thought it was well written and humorous, while providing a refreshing dose of common sense. We're so bombarded with Conventional Wisdom these days through the media, the government, the medical establishment and those like the processed food industry who know there's a real profit to be made through everyone towing the line, that it's great to find someone who isn't afraid to speak out and disagree with the normal advice being thrown at us.
I was surprised with Mark's advice on exercise but it does make perfect sense. The diet wasn't a real surprise as I'd read Cordain's "The Paleo Diet" and Audette's "Neanderthin". The only surprises were that Mark found ways to allow the occasional wine or dark chocolate, which are definitely selling points. All in all, an excellent book which I highly recommend.
Thought provoking! August 9, 2010 W. K. (California, USA) I ran across this book almost by accident. I consider myself a fairly healthy 51 year old, but after struggling to loose the 8 additional pounds that I have accumulated over the last 15 years, I realized that something was fundamentally wrong with my approach. I tried varying my caloric intake but with no success. My exercise regime has always been good and fairly consistent. no problems there. After reading The Primal Blueprint and making some simple modifications to my diet, I've been able to cut out 4 pounds of excess body weight in about 6 weeks. I am less hungry for snacks and less tired after eating my lunch. The most important thing about this book is that it seems to make sense to me. I highly recommend it.
